Christian Home Décor: Décor Worthy of Praise

“Faith knows no boundaries,” this is a common saying among believers and showing faith by having Christian décor is one way of proving how faith  encompasses boundaries. Devoted believers usually place religious décor in their home to let people know about their faith. Religious home decorations show just how proud they are of their belief in the Lord.

Your home will say a lot about your personality. When a person walks into your home, they get a feel for the kind of person you are just by looking at the décor and the interior of your home. They can see what things you hold as valuable and what things you can probably do without. They then form a judgment about you and decide in attributing you with certain characteristics based on what they see. Having them see religious décor in your home will definitely help them get an idea on where you stand on your faith.

Considered as work of art, religious home décor is surely a great piece to have in your home. They showcase the great faith of homeowners as well as make great gifts to families and friends. You can choose from a wider variety of Christian home décor, all you need to do is choose the one that you want. Deciding might take some time, especially if you consider the message it conveys to your guests. Having Christian home décor also serves as a reminder to your family about maintaining and staying true to your faith and lifestyle.

Choosing the right Christian home décor can prove to be a challenging task. With the huge amount of time it involves in searching because of the endless variety, looking for religious décor should not be taken lightly. To make it easier, here are several kinds of décor that you can look for.

Art Work

Crucifixes and crosses are some of the most popular types of religious art works. A focal point on any bare wall, like a simple or ornate crucifix or cross, can definitely make any room interesting. You can also opt to go for traditional paintings with religious imagery to jazz up a bare wall in your place.

Engravings

Other things types of Christian decoration that you might find attractive are engraved verses or scripture.  Whether they are really engraved or cross-stitched, choose one that showcases a scripture, verse, or saying that epitomizes your faith or your family. Some homes have this kind of décor, but with prayers instead of the usual Bible verses.

Sculptures

One of the most popular religious home decorations would be statues. Although the use of statues might still vary among the denomination and sect, it is still a religious home décor that exemplifies faith. Catholics usually put up an altar or a separate place where most of the religious items are placed.

Christian home décor is truly a great testament to your Christian faith and a good way to make a statement about it.
You can also take eyes, if you are looking for Church forms.

Christian Jewelry: Letting People Know of Your Faith

People have been using jewelry to create a fashion statement; however, more and more people are also using it to showcase their beliefs as well. Christian jewelry is slowly gaining popularity in today’s culture. Christians are no longer afraid to showcase their faith by blatantly wearing something that signifies their belief in God. Letting people know about your faith is a subtle way of acting as a witness for God.

Various sizes, shapes, designs and forms are available for people who want to buy these kinds of jewelry. You can buy Christian necklaces, rings, bracelets and even brooches and pendants. The designs can range from simple cross designs to ornate and detailed roses. You will definitely not have a problem finding the right kind that you want. Christian jewelry is also usually available in 14k, 18k or 24k designs.

Looking for jewelry like this shouldn’t be tough. Online stores usually sell them, or you can get them through local Christian shops. Christian jewelry makes a great gift as well. Little girls will love charm bracelets when they are given one. Having the jewelry customized, like adding the initials of the child, will make it more meaningful. In addition, special occasions like a wedding will make giving such gifts all the more special. There is no denying that Christian jewelry is in fact, popular when it comes to weddings. Various designs can be created from traditional designs, like rings encrusted with diamonds. When wearing Christian jewelry for your wedding, it not only showcases your vow to your partner, but also your love for God.

In fact, Christian jewelry is popular with birthdays. Crosses can be worn in necklaces, pendants or rings set with white gold. In this case, wearing these not only signifies your vow of love and eternal love for God.

Wearing Christian jewelry entails plenty of reasons for the wearer. Some people think that whenever they see a Christian wearing such, they automatically assume that he is showing off his faith.  However, there are plenty of reasons why Christians wear such jewelry. Let’s take a look at some of them.

1. Wearing Christian jewelry means that you are proud of your faith in the Lord. There is no need for you to proclaim it out loud in the center stage. God knows and you know who you believe in.

2. Christian jewelry is regarded as a subtle way of evangelizing and showing unbelievers about your faith.  You are subtly letting people know that you do believe in God and that you are willing to share your faith. In fact, most Christians that wear Christian jewelry find themselves approached by random people asking about what the jewelry means or represents.

3. Being labeled “Christian” sometimes entails a bad connotation for some people. This is not true. Christian jewelry is not only personally significant to the wearer, but they can also be great fashion pieces. Regardless of who you are, there should be a proper jewelry for you.

4. Keep in mind that you are not the main audience for the jewelry that you wear. People who see you will form judgments about you based on your appearance, whether you like it or not. When they see your jewelry, it can open doors for communication and maybe even a chance to share your faith with someone willing to listen.

You can find more ways to show your faith to every person you encounter. Wearing and having Christian jewelry is just one of them. It is a subtle way of proclaiming that you follow Lord. Every Christian should consider wearing one.
You can also choose your Christian rings from the large collection.

Seriously Angst!  Feb 12, 2006

I have been watching Joyce Meyer on TV for many years, but have not read any of her books until recently.

This book spoke to me "right where I am". It puts a handle on the reality of worry and anxiety.

Casting your cares on the Lord and being anxious for nothing, does not mean that you don't care about what is going on in your life. It means that you are totally dependent on God. Thanks Joyce!

Battlefield of the Mind

"Battlefield of the Mind" by Joyce Meyer

This is yet another great and very solid book from the same author. This book tackles about the need for the transformation and renewal of our human minds, which is said to be the battlefield between God, the devil and our own flesh.  Every Christian must learn how to walk in the Spirit and do things according to His ways. Learning how to steer clear from negative thoughts can help us resist temptations.

As the old saying goes, you are what you think and you will eventually become what you think. This is said to be the main reason why the devil is always after our own mind, relentlessly trying to possess our very thoughts. The devil will always attempt to lure you to the dark side with your mind. This book is said to be one of the best Joyce Meyer has ever written, expertly delivering a powerful and enlightening piece that can be an instrumental in the spiritual development of a person.

I believe Joyce Meyer to be one of the very best Bible teachers we have in the Body to-date. This book in particular provides a good commentary and valuable insights in one of the most common problems shared by almost everyone from all walks of life – the incessant need to try and please everyone. There are hundreds of people who have actually benefited from her teachings and have become a highly-recommended self-help book.

For anyone who thinks "people-pleasing" will do anything for your social-life or personal self-esteem except leave you feeling frustrated and feeling unappreciated...this book is for you.... Great practical Christian teaching on following your own destiny, being the authentic you and trusting God to bring the people to you that are supportive and the rest, well....like Joyce Meyer implies, and the old words of wisdom state "You can't please all the people, all the time."

Eye Opening  Jan 3, 2007
I am reading this now and am loving it and seeing some of myself mirrored in this book. I had gifted it to my mom in Spanish and she loves it and she is learning  a lot about herself and has already begun to put into practice what she is learning. She said to me, "I don't want to just read this, I want to learn and live it." Powerful to experience and I am sure it will do the same for me and you should you decide to read and challenge yourself in this New Year.
